About

Meet Rachel

Rachel Schneider, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor who completed her degree in Counselor Education at the University of Florida with a focus in mental health counseling. Currently she specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), primarily with anxiety disorders, and particularly with OCD. She also can help with issues of depression, PTSD, and other concerns. Her main goal and priority is to help every client become their happiest, healthiest self through the therapeutic process.

Rachel has been practicing in the Gainesville area since 2016, during which time she has built her skills and learned a great deal about the counseling process, forming her own unique brand of counseling. Rachel places a high value on the therapeutic bond between client and therapist, as it has been shown to be the cornerstone of successful counseling across all theories of practice. While she finds great value in the basis of cognitive behavioral skills for clients, she also recognizes every client has different needs and responds best to different interventions, and taking the time to get to know a client and figure out what works for them is always a top priority.

Rachel was born in Gainesville, and despite moving around as a child has always come back to it as a home base. It has a special place in her heart due to fond memories with grandparents, cousins, and friends over the years. Family and friends are a big part of life for Rachel and her husband, and they enjoy frequent board game nights with friends. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, writing, playing video games, cuddling with her animals, and crocheting. She loves to travel when she gets the chance, and can also often be found at various Renaissance Fairs around the area when they are up and running.
